Need help with personal growth?
Do you have personal goals and objectives that you want to reach?
How about professional development goals?
More than likely you need an individual development plan also called a professional development plan to help.
First things first and that's balance.
Today I want to talk about balance because I think a lot of people have a skewed view on the idea balance. You hear I should live a balanced life and that I should have equal amounts of time for everything in my life, plus be successful while having a great impact on the world. Sounds Great right! If everything would just go according to plan life would be bliss!

Well here's my views on that, average people spend most of their time trying to stop extraordinary people from doing extraordinary things and you know it's true. One of their tools is to point to others and say their workaholics and have an unbalanced life. They're really trying to get them to feel guilty. What they really want to do is pull them back down to average. Average people don't like those with vision. It makes them feel uncomfortable; and those with vision crave for personal growth. If you fall into their trap you listen to those stories, but if your extraordinary and KNOW you were put on this earth to do something AMAZING you won't listen to them. The biggest cause for failure is self doubt and finding excuses. You have personal goals and objectives that you must reach. Excuses are not real, your purpose is greater.
Going back to balance, people misunderstand balance. People think of balance is trying to balance everything in a single day e.g. workout/work/family/play/etc. They think a successful life is having that every single day, and it's not. I think a better way to look at balance is look at it in different segments or seasons, like a five-year window, there will segments for work, for play, for family, for support. Just like there's different segments or seasons through the year ( spring, summer, fall, winter). We must look at balance over a longer period of time, you're not going to have everything happen every single day. You won't have time to focus on much.
Look at it over a longer period of time, so if you have a segment of work for 90 days you're not going to have as much time for play. You will make up for it over time when you balance out later. You will be able to give more attention to the people that you care about once that 90 day segment is over. I know it's always a struggle to try to balance out the people you love and your purpose, but look at it over a longer period of time and this will help. Just come to an agreement with your loved ones and say I really need your support over this segment of time, please help me stay focused. They will understand and will help you stay on course.
The successful people I know work all the time and I mean all the time, but their families have learned to accommodate and adjust. The ones I know are not doing it because they love money and they are definitely not doing it because they love work, they're doing it because they feel it's their purpose. They have a mission on this earth to impact as many lives as possible in a positive way, they want to make a change in other peoples' lives. Even when they're relaxing with their families or having a night on the town they're thinking about their purpose in the back of their mind. They really give their purpose the respect it deserves. Now it's your turn.
Remember, find balance over a longer period of time and not every single day, that's what average people do. Really lock down, focus and do something great. If you have greatness in you, it's going to take some REAL intensity over segments of time because your purpose is driving you.
It's fun to wake up with purpose and meaning in your life, and that's in addition to your family and relationships. It's not in replacement of, but in addition to.
Never let people make you feel guilty for chasing your goals and your purpose, because that's what average people do, and you're not average.
